SMS Privacy Policy

1. Scope of This Policy

This SMS Privacy Policy explains how WoodWorx Lumber Supply, Inc. (“WoodWorx,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, protects, and discloses information associated with our customer-service and transactional SMS/MMS messaging program.

This policy applies to text messages sent to or received from 847-807-4050. It supplements, and does not replace, any broader privacy policy posted on our website.

2. Information We Collect

When you communicate with us by SMS or MMS, we may collect your mobile telephone number; your name, company name, and contact information; the content, date, and time of messages; consent and opt-out records; order, pickup, shipping, payment-reminder, and customer-service information; and photographs, documents, product identifiers, or other files you choose to send.

Please do not send full payment-card numbers, bank-account information, Social Security numbers, passwords, or other highly sensitive information by text message.

3. How We Use SMS Information

We use SMS information to communicate with customers about orders and reorders; answer questions about products; receive photographs or product information to help identify the correct item; provide order-status and pickup-ready notices; communicate store hours; provide customer service and general technical guidance; send UPS shipping or tracking links; provide payment reminders; send product data sheets, technical data sheets, safety data sheets, and similar PDF documents; resolve account, delivery, or order issues; maintain records of customer communications; and comply with legal, regulatory, security, and operational requirements.

Our current SMS program is limited to customer-service and transactional communications. We do not currently use this consent to send marketing messages, promotions, or special offers. If we offer promotional SMS messages in the future, we will obtain any separate consent required by law and applicable messaging rules before sending them.

4. How Customers Opt In

Customers may consent to receive customer-service and transactional text messages from WoodWorx in any of the following ways:

Checking an optional SMS-consent checkbox on a WoodWorx website or order form;
Giving verbal consent to a WoodWorx representative after the applicable SMS disclosure is provided; or
Initiating a text-message conversation with WoodWorx at 847-807-4050. When a customer initiates a text, WoodWorx may reply and continue communicating about that request, order, account, or related customer-service matter.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing goods or services. We may maintain records showing how and when consent was provided.

5. Message Types and Frequency

Messages may include order and reorder communications, product questions, product-identification assistance, requests for or receipt of product images, pickup notifications, store-hour information, general technical guidance, shipping and UPS tracking links, payment reminders, account or delivery communications, and links or attachments containing product, technical, or safety documentation.

Message frequency varies and generally will not exceed 10 messages per day per active customer. More than 10 messages may be exchanged when the customer is participating in an active conversation or when additional communication is reasonably necessary to address an active order, delivery, account, or customer-service issue.

6. How We Share Information

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time.

We do not sell or rent SMS opt-in information, mobile telephone numbers, or SMS consent records. We may disclose information only as reasonably necessary to providers that support message transmission and business operations—such as Intermedia, telecommunications carriers, messaging aggregators, website or information-technology providers, shipping providers, and professional advisers—or when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transaction. These parties may use the information only for the services they provide or as permitted by law.

Text-message originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties, except with aggregators, telecommunications providers, and other vendors involved in operating and delivering the text-messaging service. Those disclosures are not made for third-party marketing or promotional purposes.

7. Opting Out and Requesting Help

You may opt out of WoodWorx text messages at any time by replying STOP. We may send one final message confirming your opt-out. After opting out, you will no longer receive SMS messages from this program unless you provide consent again.

For assistance, reply HELP, call or text 847-807-4050. We will honor recognized opt-out requests as required by applicable law and messaging rules.

8. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile service plan. WoodWorx does not charge a separate fee for participating in its SMS program.

9. Data Retention and Security

We retain SMS-related information for as long as reasonably necessary for customer service, order fulfillment, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, legal compliance, and legitimate business purposes. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no text-messaging or electronic-storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our SMS program is intended for business customers and adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the program.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Any revised policy will be posted on woodworxsupply.com with an updated effective date. Material changes to the SMS program may also be communicated through other reasonable means.
